This work explores the cultural specificities in contrast to the current global unification and the language hegemony in business, culture and entertainment.
Eight different cultures are shown: Japanese, Arab, German, English, Spanish, Russian, French and North-African. They pronounce 10 popular phrases making evident their origins throughout their accent. This installation was displayed in the electronic art festival FUSION 2000, organized by the Universität-Bauhaus Weimar with the collaboration of the Media-Arts department from the University of California UCLA.
The subject is an exploration of the different identities throughout the linguistic accent using the telepresence.
